Greve is a wonderful little town which you can easily use as a base to explore the Tuscany region. It is approximately 25 minutes to Florence, 40 minutes to Sienna and about an hour to the the hill towns. This accomodation provides everything you need to make your holiday complete. The pool and grounds are a wonderful place to relax after a day of sightseeing or to spend a day around the pool. The owners provide a traditional pizza party which is well worth attending and is a nice touch. The only improvement that could be made is the addition of a toaster. A wonderful holiday rental!
These apartments are in a great location, about a 2 minute walk from the main square in Greve. Beautiful Montefioralle is only a 15 minute walk away, and is worth walking to in order to take in the incredible views along the way. The pool and garden area is fantastic, with lots of space for children to run around. The playground at the very back of the property is best suited to young children (2-4 year olds). We loved our time in Greve and would recommend this properly for it's location, convenience and facilities. It's a good base for Tuscany if you have a car. If you don't, you need to take the bus to Florence (about an hour) before you can really go to other areas.
We very much enjoyed the property. The owner (Monica) and the two staff members (Marco and I think Maria) were great to deal with. We did have a problem during the first week with the water shutting off part way through taking a shower. Seemed to have been resolved though.
On the other side of the coin, the property is perfectly situated in Greve in Chianti, very close to the main piazza, which was great. Also, the property was clean and the grounds were wonderful (pool was a Godsend for a hot Tuscan day).
We (4 couples trevelling together) where very well received by the owner and personnel. On our departure day they even arranged for us to continue using the garden and made an apartment available for calls of nature. The area and sorroundings was beautiful and exceeded expectations. Close to Greve center, walking distance to restaurants. A very peaceful town.
Palazzo a Greve is a Tuscan dream! Situated in a vineyard, with beautiful amenities, offering serenity (no road noise) and a sense of security. It was a little hard to find initially, but was easy to access and is in easy reach of day-trip destinations. Pienza is one of my favorites. We were there in October and watched as the trees and vines turned yellow and then red. Wish I was a painter.
The villa was situated on a side street off the main piazza, which meant that we had quiet privacy *and* we could quickly enjoy the convenience of a fresh cup of coffee, the tourist information office, phones, restaurants, and enotecas. Our apartment was very clean and well-stocked. It was quite comfortable, and the owner and the on-site employees were flexible and helpful. For example, our flight was very late and the airline lost our luggage. The villa employee ensured that we could arrive at 3 a.m. and received the luggage for us during the day so that we could explore the countryside. We will definitely return!
Very nice accommodation with great pool area and close to restaurants and cafes. Very good wine tasting venue close by. Access to accommodation via market and tight archway makes getting there difficult, especially as street is often barricaded when market is on, and market is the only access. Sometimes it is barricaded even if the market is not on, and it is worth knowing that in this case you should just move the barricades and drive through!
This was a perfect Tuscan experience! Palazzo a Greve was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glasses ect.. It was a very short walk to the piazza, restaurants, wine tasting, cafes, stores, prociutto, bread and gelato! It was a short drive to many small towns and beautiful views. It was also was about a half an hour drive to Florence or Siena, 3 hours to Milan and 2 1/2 hour drive to Rome...a perfect location! We were ten people and had three rooms, all of us were very happy.
